Happiness À la carte?

Lately I've noticed people are having a hard time financially, emotionally and overall everything. It's hard to keep your head up with so many horrible things happening out there, but it is important to keep fighting no matter how bad things get. When we are happy, or at least satisfied with our life, our body isn't under as much stress and pressure as if you were constantly upset or hating on yourself. Here are some tips for you to release stress and maybe, even find happiness in your life:

1) Focus on the good things. Sometimes we are so certain that everything has gone bad that we forget to focus on our blessings. Little things like receiving compliments to bigger things such as discovering you will be a parent can make a difference - if we focus in it instead of the bad things such as our flaws or not enough time/money to spend on your child we will be able to enjoy life to the fullest independent of our personal issues.

2) Exercise! If you go running every afternoon or attend the gym every couple of days our body releases adrenaline, "adrenaline increases heart rate, constricts blood vessels to minimize bleeding, and dilates the air passages. It also gives people bursts of energy. Basically, it makes the body feel as good and energized as the body ever can. " (IO9, 2011) If you feel energised, psychologically you will feel happy, which releases stress.

3) Don't turn to alcohol, cigarettes and other drugs. When people sometimes hit rock bottom, many of them turn to alcohol, cigarettes and other heavy drugs, in which just makes the situation worse. Likewise tip number one, we should focus on our blessings when it feels like we will turn to those bad vices. It's important to keep our health in hard times, not only for ourselves but our loved ones.

4) Find a hobby to focus on. Whether it is work, painting or writing, if you focus on something which makes you happy or stimulates your brain, it is more likely for you to forget your problems, this also discharges stress and when you clear your head, you could even find a solution to how to solve your difficulties. 

5) Talk to friends, family members or even a stranger! When you talk to people, especially a loved one, they can help you! Additionally, when you talk to a stranger, someone who doesn't have an influence in your life or in your group of friends, what they say aren't as censored as what friends would say, this way their opinion is more clear and sometimes even more helpful. Try to laugh, talk and go out with your friends as well, as the old phrase says: laugh is the best medicine.

Don't give up on happiness. Stay away from things and people who brings stress into your life, and focus on how to incorporate happiness in your daily routine. Read good and powerful affirmations everyday. If things are getting worse, please seek professional help but never forget: you aren't alone!!

    1. Firstly, I didn't come up with those affirmations. Secondly, why bother commenting if you are going to be an ass. This post is so people can somehow deal with their problems, therefore, comments like this are just rude and pathetic honestly. Additionally, in many religions the universe does care.

    2. I agree totally. I have felt relief from life's ups & downs by realizing that my worrying is wasted energy. Sometimes 'giving it up to thee universe'
      is the best thing you can do for yourself. Thank you for sharing something positive!
